During the year our club runs a number of competitions. The main one is the Player of the Year. We also have a Matchplay competition, Club Championship, 2 Ball Aggregate and the Annual Croatia Shield Championship. Each has its own club enforced guidelines, as follows:
Player of the Year (POTY)
All Stableford scores for each weekly round will be included, except those identified below, however the 5 worse scores of the year will be extracted. In effect, a player's 5 worse scores will not be included, this includes any missed rounds.
The Auscro & Concrete Cup rounds will NOT be included for the P.O.T.Y.
At year end if there is a "Best Stableford Score" draw, then the best score, in taking off the 7th worse score will be used, etc etc. Therefore the more rounds you play the better your chances. The club may also introduce one or two additional "whammy" prizes for additional points to keep the competition interesting, this is yet to be determined.
On Stroke days/events, such as the Club Championship a stableford score should be kept as well as a stroke score.
Qualification for the Matchplay tournament occurs in the 2nd round of the year. From there, the Top 16 Players will qualify for round 2, then the Top 8 in Round 3 etc etc.
It was decided at the 2011 AGM by a member vote that all paid up members (by the 1st April) qualify for the Club Championship. This will obviously be subject to availability of places for the rounds nominated each year as the Club Championships. No player will be allowed to play in the Club Championships with a golf cart unless the golf cart is available to all players as part of the game.
Croatia Shield Competition
A player must have attended and paid for at least 3 rounds of golf with the Croatia Sydney Social Golf Club during a year before the 1st round of the competition being in November each year. As in the past the club committee will review any plausible reasons for a player to qualify if they do not meet this entry requirement.
Match Review Committee
The Croatia Sydney Social Golf Club has appointed a Match Review Committee to adjudicate on any rule or guideline misinterpretations or perceived inequities that arise during the year. This committee is made up of the Club Captain and 2 other committee members as nominated by the Captain.
